Pua has passed on

Pua died Early Sunday Morning or Late Saturday night depending on how you look at it.

I spent most of the last days in mom's arms.

I'm sorry I could not fight any more. I tried for mom. I even gave laying next to my food and giving it a lick a go before going into my washer to pass on.

In my youth I could always find my love, Stewie in the washer and I have returned every night since. Tonight he was finally there to greet me.

I was 12 years and 7 months and that's pretty old for a tamandua.

I posted elsewhere already. Took her to the vet today to be cremated. If possible someday I will spread her ashes in the rain forest.

Pua had a near death illness when she was young. It caused internal bleeding and organ damage. Her damaged pancreas started to wear out with age. First diabetes and then recurrent bouts of pancreatitis till it finally wore out all together.

This is very sad to hear...

Pua was a fighter until the end though, and I know you did everything you could to keep her happy and healthy. 12 years old is impressive, especially for a pet tamandua, and you and her showed the world what an amazing bond you had. Thank you for doing so; Pua shall be forever loved and remembered.

This is heartbreaking. I'm awfully sorry.
12 years is certainly quite a long time. You must've taken great care of her. She was lucky to have you.

Thank you. It seemed like she was here much longer than that, in a good way. There was so much packed into her life.
